James Brown III

James Brown III is President, Chief Creative Officer, and Co-Founder of Story House, Inc., an entertainment and media company developing Story House Village, a 240+ acre film-studio and community project in Sheridan, Wyoming built to anchor a sustainable film industry in the Mountain West. His former production company, Triónoide Entertainment, was acquired by Story House, where he executive produced the award-winning films White Flags and Early Light, the latter shot in partnership with CHAPS Equine Assisted Therapy, a Wyoming nonprofit serving veterans and children.

Along with his father James Brown Jr., Boris Kodjoe, and Patrick Kodjoe, Brown III is a co-founder of World of Alfa, the made-to-measure clothing company the Kodjoe brothers built together, one of the longest-standing ties on this board.

Brown III founded Broadway Style Guide, a fashion-and-Broadway lifestyle magazine he ran as Creative Director and Fashion Editor until selling the brand to TodayTix in a 2018 acquisition, and served as Fashion Editor of Chill Magazine. As a performer, he has appeared in twelve Broadway shows, including the Tony-winning companies of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Memphis, the original casts of Frozen, Rocky, Ghost, and The Color Purple, plus television credits on Mr. Robot, The Get Down, and NBC’s live musical broadcasts. He holds a B.S. in Psychology from Brown University and is completing his MBA at the Wharton School.
