Answers about the Kodjoe Family Foundation — our mission, our programs, how to give, and how to get involved.
About the Foundation
What is the Kodjoe Family Foundation?
The Kodjoe Family Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker. It builds infrastructure for academic equity, holistic wellness, economic sovereignty, and collective impact for multicultural communities, across generations — organized around four pillars: Love All, Lift All, Live All, and Full Circle.
Who founded the foundation, and why?
Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker. Their daughter Sophie was born with spina bifida, and the family's experience with a system not built for families like theirs became the blueprint for the foundation's work. The organization traces back to Sophie's Voice Foundation (founded 2008), which grew and was renamed the Kodjoe Family Foundation in 2019.
Is the foundation a registered nonprofit? What's your EIN?
Yes — the Kodjoe Family Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, tax-exempt since April 2010. All contributions are tax-deductible.
When was the foundation founded, and where is it headquartered?
Not yet confirmed anywhere in the vault. The foundation's timeline shows 2008 origins as Sophie's Voice Foundation and a 2019 rename, but an exact "founded" date and HQ city/state are still pending confirmation from the foundation's leadership.
Who leads the foundation day to day?
Cathie Hartnett serves as Executive Director, running the systems, partnerships, and operations that carry out Boris and Nicole's vision. See the Leadership page for her full bio and the Board of Directors.
Donating & Giving
How can I support the foundation?
Through a one-time or recurring gift at the Donate page. Recurring gifts can be billed monthly, quarterly, or yearly. Named donor tiers have been proposed internally but are not yet live — the live donation flow currently uses flat amount options ($25/$50/$100/$250/$500/$1000/$2500, or a custom amount).
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. The Kodjoe Family Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and all contributions are tax-deductible.
Where does my donation go?
Donations fund the foundation's four pillars directly — LOVE ALL Scholarship costs (tuition, coaching, training), content series production (Tuesdays with Junior, Roots & Futures, Motivation Monday, IMPACT), partner programs (GRTC, TRCF, CEE, GymWrap), and Full Circle Africa initiatives.
Can my organization sponsor or partner with KFF?
Yes — the foundation offers named sponsorship opportunities tied to specific pillars and programs. See the Partnership/Sponsorship section on the Donate page, or contact the foundation directly.
Programs & Pillars
What are the foundation's four pillars?
Love All (academic equity), Lift All (economic sovereignty), Live All (holistic wellness), and Full Circle (collective impact / diaspora connection). Each has its own hub page with partner programs and content series.
What is the LOVE ALL Scholarship?
LOVE ALL places Black youth at elite academic and athletic institutions — including the Mouratoglou Academy, ICL Virtual Tennis Academy, and local USTA high-performance centers — and covers tuition, coaching, and training costs. Current scholars include Junior Hakizumwami, Hanna Dessie, Shane Hines, and Sidney Jones.
How do I apply for the LOVE ALL Scholarship, or nominate someone?
The Love All Scholarship is currently closed for the 2026 season. Please check back for next year's availability schedule.
What is Tuesdays with Junior?
A weekly video series following LOVE ALL scholar Junior Hakizumwami's journey at the Mouratoglou Academy in France — training, tournaments, exams, and everyday life as a young Black athlete on a global stage. New episodes publish every Tuesday.
What is Roots & Futures?
A year-long weekly multimedia series pairing a historical "Root" with a modern "Future" in the same field — recovering stories of Black excellence that curricula often leave out and connecting them to the next generation. Now in its second year.
What is Motivation Monday?
A weekly content series ("The Core Frequency") centered on holistic wellness — part of the Live All pillar, hosted in Nicole Ari Parker's voice.
What is IMPACT?
A weekly series of short-form video clips (10–15 seconds) drawn from Boris Kodjoe's podcast library, paired with a companion blog post, publishing every Wednesday. Part of the Lift All pillar's economic-sovereignty content.
What is Full Circle Africa?
The foundation's diaspora initiative connecting Black communities in the U.S. with the African continent through cultural exchange, economic investment, and community partnership. The Full Circle Africa SummerFest is the flagship annual event, and the Full Circle Africa Economic Conference (FCAEC) is a related institutional gathering, co-founded by Boris Kodjoe, held in Accra and Kigali.
Who are the foundation's program partners?
Girls Rule the Court (GRTC), The Rwanda Children's Foundation (TRCF), the Center for Economic Empowerment (CEE), GymWrap, Operation HOPE, and Girls For A Change (GFAC) among others — each aligned with a specific pillar. See each partner's profile page for details.
