The Save-Your-Money Family

July 28, 2026
The Save-Your-Money Family

Before Nicole Ari Parker ever stood on a Milken Institute stage talking about the feminization of wealth, she grew up in Baltimore in what she calls, plainly, “a save-your-money kind of family.”

“I’m from Baltimore, the inner city. My dad is going to be 85 next week, but he was an inner-city dentist. My mom worked for a hospital in radiology, and it was very much a save-your-money kind of family,” she said on the panel.

Saving is a discipline. It’s also, on its own, a ceiling. A family that saves every dollar carefully can still miss out on the compounding that comes from investing those same dollars, simply because nobody in the room ever taught them the next step existed. That gap, between saving and building, runs through entire generations before anyone names it.

Nicole named it. Later in the same conversation, reflecting on her own financial education, she said plainly: “I’m still learning about where I want to focus.” That’s not a founder pretending to have all the answers. That’s honesty about a real, common starting point, one LIFT ALL is built to meet people at.

LIFT ALL exists to hand the next generation what a save-your-money family often couldn’t: the tools to move from protecting what you have to growing it. That’s the real conversation about generational wealth, and it starts with telling the truth about where most families actually begin.
