Tuesdays with Junior | Monthly Recap | June 2026
June is the month Junior’s story turned. Everything before it was building toward this, and everything after it points somewhere new.
It opened with a trip to Paris and Roland-Garros on June 2, a look at the biggest stage in the sport right as exam pressure hit its peak. A week later, June 9, the exams were done.
“I finished my exams and I’m graduating this week. So yeah, I’m really happy.”
Junior Hakizumwami, Love All Scholar, Episode 23, June 9 2026
On June 16, Junior graduated from the Mouratoglou Academy. That’s not a small milestone. That’s a kid who left Kigali with a scholarship, closing out a full academic year in France, on schedule, on his own terms.
Then came the part of the story that changes everything going forward. On June 23, Junior went home to Rwanda, and his internship with the Tennis Rwanda Children’s Foundation began. This is the full circle moment the whole series has been building toward: Joseline Umulisa, the woman whose foundation shaped Junior as a player long before the Kodjoe Family Foundation ever found him, is who he’s going back to serve. By June 30, he was already back on court playing for Rwanda, through to the round of 4 in a home tournament.
He left home with a scholarship. He’s coming back with something to give.
Learn more, get involved, love all.
