Don’t Be Fooled: The Work Continues
Junior’s energy this week says it all: don’t be fooled by the wins. Don’t mistake tournament results for the end of the process: they’re checkpoints, not destinations. The players who plateau are often the ones who start believing their own scoreline. Junior isn’t there. He’s back on the practice court, back in the gym, back in the film sessions that most people never see.
April at the Academy is a pivotal phase in the clay-court calendar. The draws get harder, the opponents have more experience on the surface, and the tactical margins narrow. Every point becomes more instructive. Junior is taking those instructions seriously: studying opponents, reviewing patterns, asking the questions that produce better competitive decisions.
