Fourth round. Junior reached the fourth round of his last tournament at the Mouratoglou Academy. And there’s weight to that sentence that can’t quite be captured in a scoreline. This is a player who arrived in January unsure of exactly what level he was at, who has spent five months in one of the most demanding training environments in professional tennis, and who closes that chapter having pushed himself to the fourth round of a competitive draw.
The academy chapter is ending. Next week is exam revision. The last weeks at Mouratoglou are something Junior says he’s trying to experience fully, “trying to enjoy every single moment.” There’s no glossing over what that means. This place changed him. The coaching, the competitors, the daily exposure to professional-level expectations: it leaves a mark.
